  1. Oh how exotic, Fly! Such wonderful colours and shapes. They make daffodils look very homely :-)

  4. Perpetua, I was putting out the washing this morning when I saw that a few new things were in flower....

Pueblo girl put a super pic of wild marcissi on a recent blog...they looked pretty exotic too!

Sarah, I'm not good with a camera, but I'm trying to improve as it's a shame not to be able to reproduce things well.
Anyone who has lived in the tropics will probably think all this banal...but I still can't get over having a coconut palm in the garden!

Mark...the garden is a lot messier than these shots show! The rainy season has started early and the grass is rising!

Hah! Famous last words, seeing as Blogger is eating your posts again.

Beautiful photos. My garden is almost as jungly, but it isn't a good look here.

  9. Nature is indeed beautiful under the guidance and skills of those with a definite green thumb.

  10. Jimmy...I can claim no credit for the coconut palm....

The fourth pic...the wild one... is the hedge of rat tail flowers we planted against the porch to attract the hummingbirds and butterflies. Needless to say both species took to flight at the whirr of the camera...or was it the expletive as I tripped on the watering can?

  14. I've lived in the tropics and do not think it at all banal that you or anyone else enjoy having a coconut palm.

I thought about you today as I spied the headline Living the Dream in a section of the local paper...It wasn't about France but Costa Rica...

  15. e...and today we have the flocks of parrots who also enjoy the coconut palm...!
Living the dream....it does make one smile a bit, doesn't it!

  16. Phil, I'm waiting for the black gang to find me....the lorry at the top of the drive and an Irish voice informing me that he and the boys have just been repairing the Caldera highway and happen to have a bit of the black stuff over and wouldn't it be a shame to waste it....
