Who are the sharks?

Costa Rica 2005 (5)Costa Rica 2005 (5) (Photo credit: Philippe Guillaume)Costa Rica promotes itself as being Green...Eco..you name it.

So tell me what is Green or Eco about fishing boats capturing sharks, stripping off their fins for the lucrative Chinese market and dumping the sharks back into the sea...to die slowly from drowning.

I have put up a petition on Avaaz

http://www.avaaz.org/en/petition/Stop_the_trade_in_shark_fins_in_Costa_Rica/?launch

Please sign...please ask others to sign..please put pressure on the Costa Rican government to put its money where its mouth is...

and stop this torture.

  2. The cruelty of people leaves me stunned. Money really is the root of all evil.

  3. Thanks for the email, Fly. I have signed the petition. There are no words for the horrors that man inflicts on other species. Can't help thinking that there was a major design flaw somewhere in the blueprint.

    1. Thank you.....I'd like to get my hands on the perpetrators.
      It wouldn't be nice.

  5. Done< Fly. Cruelty in the perpetrators and indifferent selfishness in those who eat the soup prepared with such ingredients. If there wasn't a market, the shark fishers wouldn't bother. Sigh...
